Your tiles

How it works

1. Claim a tile. Pick one on the map, or press Surprise me. You can hold 3 tiles at a time.
2. Build it. One click opens TerraPrinter with the tile and the shared print settings ready.
3. Print it and take a photo of the print.
4. Post the photo on the tile's page within 30 days. Once we've checked it, your tile lights up on the map.

One print size for everyone

So the prints look like one map when you see them side by side, every tile is built the same way. The app sets this for you.

Any colour and any printer is fine. A tile takes about 3 to 6 hours to print with a 0.4 mm nozzle.

Good to know

• Tiles are about 111 km tall and up to 111 km wide. Tiles near the poles are wider in degrees but the same size on the ground.
• Only tiles with land on them are on the map, from 84° south to 84° north.
• A claim lasts 30 days. If no photo comes in by then, the tile is free again. While we check your photo, the clock stops.
• Photos must show your print. We check each one before it shows, and we show your display name, never your email.
• Change your display name on your account page.
