Terms of use
Last updated 2026-10-25
TerraPrinter is a free tool for turning map areas into 3D-printable models. By using terraprinter.com you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
TerraPrinter is operated by Capital Coders Inc. (“we”, “us”). These terms cover terraprinter.com, its subdomains, and the TerraPrinter tools for AI assistants.
Using TerraPrinter
- You can use TerraPrinter without an account and without paying.
- Models are built in your own browser from public map and elevation data. Use them for personal, educational or commercial purposes, for free, under the free commercial license.
- Please don't overload the service: no automated bulk requests, scraping, or attempts to get around limits, bans or security measures.
- Don't use TerraPrinter to break the law or to harm, harass or track other people.
The models you make
We don't claim ownership of the models you make or the prints you sell. Under the free commercial license you may print, share, give away and sell them, and the files themselves, with no fee or revenue share to us. When you sell or share them, credit “Made with TerraPrinter (terraprinter.com)”.
The models are made from third-party data, which has its own licences. When you publish or sell a model, keep the data credits that come with it, at least “Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors” (the Open Database License) and the elevation source named in the file. The exact credits are written into each download and listed on the license page.
The free commercial license includes the landmark models and everything else TerraPrinter adds to a model. The TerraPrinter name, logo, website and software stay © Capital Coders Inc.: please don't present your products as made or endorsed by TerraPrinter.
Accuracy
Map data, building heights and elevations come from public sources and can be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Models are artistic representations, not survey-grade measurements. Don't rely on them for navigation, engineering, safety or legal purposes.
Accounts and shared builds
- Accounts are optional. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in safe and for what you do with your account.
- When you share a build publicly (the gallery, share links, print photos), you let us show it on TerraPrinter and in previews of its link. You can make it private or delete it at any time.
- Only upload photos and text you have the right to share. Don't post anything illegal, hateful, sexual, or that reveals someone else's private information.
- We may hide or remove shared content, and suspend accounts or access, that break these terms.
Donations
Donations (for example through Buy Me a Coffee) are voluntary gifts that help pay for hosting. They don't buy a product, a service level, or any special rights, and they are not refundable except where the law requires it. Payments are handled by the donation provider under its own terms.
No warranty
TerraPrinter is provided free, “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We don't promise that it will always be available, error-free, or that a model will print successfully. We may change, limit or stop any feature at any time.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Capital Coders Inc. is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for lost profits, data, filament, printer time or damage to equipment, arising from your use of TerraPrinter or the models you make. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be waived.
Privacy
How we handle personal information is described in the privacy policy.
Changes
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here and change the date at the top; continuing to use TerraPrinter after that means you accept the update.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
