About the Westminster Abbey
The present church was begun in 1245 under Henry III on the site of Edward the Confessor’s abbey. It has been the coronation church of English and British monarchs since 1066 and is the burial place of many of them. Its west towers, designed by Nicholas Hawksmoor, were completed in 1745.
What the model includes
Laid out from OpenStreetMap’s outline and 3D parts of the abbey church. It shows the nave, transepts and choir with 34 m walls under their steep roofs, the flying buttresses on their pinnacled piers, the low lantern over the crossing, the apse and its chevet of chapels, and Henry VII’s Lady Chapel with its turreted buttresses. The north front has its three porches, rose window and spired turrets, and the west front has the great west window, the row of statues over the door and Hawksmoor’s twin towers with their corner turrets and pinnacles at 68.6 m.
It is built from simple closed solids, so it slices cleanly and stands flat. In the download window you can set the height from 10 to 250 mm and add a base plate with the name in raised letters. The mesh has about 58,980 triangles, small enough to open in any slicer.
Print the Westminster Abbey on its real terrain
Map data stores most buildings as a flat outline with a height, so the Westminster Abbey would normally print as a plain block. In TerraPrinter, this model takes its place automatically. It is turned to match the outline in the map data and stands on the real elevation, with the streets, water and buildings around it.

Questions
Is the Westminster Abbey 3D model free?
Yes. You can download the Westminster Abbey as an STL or 3MF for free, without an account, and print it as many times as you like.
What size should I print the Westminster Abbey?
At the default height of 85 mm it measures 88 × 196 × 85 mm. Pick any height from 10 to 250 mm before downloading. Thin parts like spires and antennas print better at 100 mm and up on a 0.4 mm nozzle.
Do I need supports?
No. The model stands flat on its base and prints upright without supports.
Can I print the Westminster Abbey with the city around it?
Yes. "Print on its terrain" opens TerraPrinter with the area around the Westminster Abbey selected. When you generate the model, this landmark replaces the plain block from the map data and stands on the real terrain with the surrounding streets and buildings.
